and cooling specialist BBE Projects reports that it has commissioned its first two surface main fan station wire duct  turnkey projects for the South African mining
industry.

The first installation, a bifur-
cated surface main fan station,
has been commissioned at coal miner Anglo Coal’s Zondags-fontein colliery, near Ogies, in Mpumalanga. The contract, awarded in 2008, includes two axial flow Howden fans.

The installation includes all structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design and specifications, all steel ducting, buildings, fan mechanicals, electric drives, instrumentation and control systems.
BBE adds that noise emitted by the fan stations is also well below strict design criteria.

The second installation duct was commissioned at platinum-mining company Lonmin Platinum’s Saffy Shaft, in the North West province, and included earthworks and civils, building works, ducting and mechanicals and electrical equipment, as well as instru
mentation and control for a trifurcated fan station.
BBE replaced two temporary fans trunking on the shaft with two permanent centrifugal fans, and installed ducting, which makes provision for a third fan or an emergency diesel standby fan.

Queenstown firefighters http://www.wiring-ducts.com/queenstown-firefighters/ http://www.wiring-ducts.com/queenstown-firefighters/#comments Fri, 08 Oct 2010 06:17:28 +0000 numbo http://www.wiring-ducts.com/?p=1239 Queenstown firefighters had to postpone their visit to the annual Emergency Services Ball on Saturday night when a kitchen wiring duct fire broke out at Botswana Butchery Restaurant.

Restaurant patrons were evacuated duct when the fire started in the kitchen at the rear of the building at 6.50pm.

Three appliances were sent to the fire and it was out by 7.20pm.

Restaurant operations manager Sarah Stacey was “devastated” by the incident.

She said the fire may have started in a ventilation shaft in the kitchen and spread to the first floor.

The flames spread through the walls and caused interior cable trunking damage to the roof.

A week earlier, the Queenstown brigade was called to extinguish a fire at the same restaurant when kitchen ducting caught fire.

A full investigation into the cause of the fire began on Sunday morning.

It's how Marshall http://www.wiring-ducts.com/its-how-marshall/ http://www.wiring-ducts.com/its-how-marshall/#comments Mon, 20 Sep 2010 04:04:27 +0000 numbo http://www.wiring-ducts.com/?p=1231 Done. Well, not quite. To make it work De Salis needs about 10 surrounding farms to do the same. He”ll then liaise with wiring duct  local lines company, Counties Power, to extend its existing fibre-optic network a couple of extra kilometres to a point where he can hook everyone up. In the process, he”s hoping to bring broadband to the local school. The result: community-owned access. Each farmer has property rights to the fibre on their land and provides an easement – for data – to cross over to Are you stuck using the ‘old skool’ way of advertising and marketing your best-driving-school.com school, e. the neighbour.

It”s how Marshall, who lives in the old Post Office building If the Federal Reserve were the only bank in America, then bad credit loan would be money and the Fed would truly invent the money out of nothing (as it does already with outside money). at Hastwell, near Eketahuna, was able to give his partner Janet a fabulous ducting birthday present. Marshall, a naval reserve officer running a Finnish Landrace sheep farm, says the idea duct emerged from a discussion with De Salis at the Trentham Officers Mess in 2008.

“Janet was doing a masters at Otago Medical School and it was absolutely hopeless for her on dial-up over the old copper lines,” he recalls. “She would get on to some information from a university website and it would drop off halfway through. Telecom said it was going to be years before we would get broadband.”

De Salis then hatched his cable channels community access idea – convincing Marshall and eight neighbouring farms to plough in about five kilometres of cable to connect to FX Networks” fibre backbone. For the farmers, it didn”t seem that complicated – laying fibre wasn”t that different from laying irrigation pipe.

insulation http://www.wiring-ducts.com/insulation/ http://www.wiring-ducts.com/insulation/#comments Thu, 16 Sep 2010 03:28:50 +0000 numbo http://www.wiring-ducts.com/?p=1229 Nowadays, insulation is being used by almost all residential and commercial buildings to make the structure thermally stable and compatible. Insulation is done to make the place airtight, so that it remains warmer in winters or cooler in summers. Insulation helps in eliminating the need of heating or cooling equipment, and thus saves channels money that was earlier spent on electricity bills.

Different types of insulation are available these days, and one can choose from these options depending upon their budgets and requirements of the place. Blown in insulation, foam insulation and duct insulation are the most commonly and widely used types of insulation.

Blown in insulation, also known as loose-fill insulation, is one of the common ways of insulating the already existing walls, cracks or structures, which either didn’t have any insulation or which required an additional insulation. This insulation is done by blowing in loose particles into the cavities, evenly distributing them and sealing the gaps for making the structure air tight. Blown in insulation is done in the spaces between the exterior and interior walls of building and filling the cavities of the wall or attic. This process is cable trunking easy to install and economical. In addition, the blown in insulation is eco-friendly as the materials used are made up of recycled products. Also, it can be mixed with other types of insulation to fill the gaps and provide a barrier to heat.

In addition to the system’s standard features http://www.wiring-ducts.com/in-addition-to-the-systems-standard-features/ http://www.wiring-ducts.com/in-addition-to-the-systems-standard-features/#comments Wed, 25 Aug 2010 03:28:15 +0000 numbo http://www.wiring-ducts.com/?p=1200 In addition to the system’s standard features — Phase II–compliant E911 dispatching, mapping and an IP-based architecture that is ready for the eventual migration to next-generation 911 technology — Ultra-Com IP25 is capable of encrypting ducting and decrypting audio, and of storing multiple authentication keys. The latter can be accomplished by using a radio manufacturer’s key fill device, or by inputting them manually. However, the latter approach can be complicated, said Ira Gore, a regional sales engineer for the company.

“The keys are written in a fashion that’s similar to the authentication keys you get when you buy software — they’re in an alphanumeric format,” Gore said. “So the easiest way to do it is with a key fill device. Any valid key that’s received will decode, even if the console is in a ‘clear’ mode, and the system will decrypt the audio.”

Another new feature of the console system is a built-in voter comparator that processes signals from multiple base stations. “That’s a wire duct component of the DFSI, and we’re supporting that,” Gore said. He predicted that this feature would be especially attractive to agencies operating smaller systems that in the past purchased trunked radio systems with just a few channels in order to support certain features such as encryption, unit ID and multiple talk groups on the same base station.

According to Gore, now those features are available via the digital fixed station interface at greatly reduced cost. This in turn enables agencies to build their systems using conventional technologies, such as voting, to increase their duct talk-in capacity and to fill-in areas where they might have less-than-desirable coverage.
