AN environmentally-sensitive
AN environmentally-sensitive cable way through national park rainforest could still get the go-ahead on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast’s stagnant tourism industry has prompted renewed calls for the construction of a cableway from Mudgeeraba to Springbrook, and Premier Anna Bligh has cited the Cairns Skyrail as a perfect example wire duct of a rainforest cable way that worked without harming the environment.
Ms Bligh said although a previous proposal for a similar cableway on the Gold Coast was rejected by the State Government because of environmental cable duct concerns, a plan that addressed those problems might be approved wiring duct.
