To celebrate all that the church

think the stained glass windows are just gorgeous and I just think it lets the Lord’s sun in more than it did before,” said Libby Baker, a member of the church. “Just to see them when the sun is coming right in is just wonderful.”

To celebrate all that the church has accomplished with these projects, Selvin United Methodist finally held a dedication service this past Sunday. During the service, youth members provided songs and music, the congregation shared their experiences and joy for the work that’s been done, and special guests commended the church for its faithfulness cable duct  and dedication.

The church’s current pastor, Karen Sureck, said she was proud of the congregation’s efforts to dream.

“I think we’re all familiar with the cable trunking words that Martin Luther King Jr. said when he stood at the Washington Monument (and) said, ‘I have a dream.’ And I think that those who founded this church back in 1895 had a dream,” said Sureck. “I think they exemplified Plato’s advice when he said, ‘Have a dream, have a great dream, dream it greatly.’ And those forefathers from this church took that dream and used their firm foundation of faith to make this a church that would last for generations.”
